EAA Chapter 1300 monthly meeting overview.

Our January 10, 2007 meeting will be at Henderson Executive Airport
in the Conference room beginning at 7:30 PM ( 19:30 hrs ).

Who'd have thought that an airplane-struck kid from McGrath, Alberta, Canada, would ever find himself
flying the B-1 Lancer bomber (BONE) into combat for the US Air Force?

If you'd like to hear how that happened, and see some incredible video of the BONE in action, you
need to be at the January 10th Chapter meeting at Henderson, when Air Force Captain Brandon Bly
(that's right, Capt. Bly, in person) shares some of his experiences, starting as a member of the Royal
Canadian Air Cadets, and leading to graduation from the US Air Force Academy with a degree in
Aeronautical Engineering (where he also served as a glider instructor).

Capt. Bly has flown numerous aircraft, from typical GA craft (he's an SEL guy), to gliders and glider
tow planes, to the B-1 BONE, and even the super-stealthy Predator MQ-1B. His assignments have
included his first officer assignment in Special Ops, EuroNATO Joint Jet Pilot training, and combat
tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, deploying the BONE and the Predator.

He's flown the Predator in combat, from his base in the Las Vegas area, and served in Iraq as part
of Predator ground operations. Currently, he serves as an instructor, teaching new Predator pilots
the skills necessary to deploy the weapons system, the most requested asset the Air Force has,
into combat.

Be there, January 10th, at HND, for a fascinating presentation.
